R.E
Religious Education (RE) is at the centre of our school community. We live each day through our school values, encouraging the children at our school to develop an understanding of themselves and other people. RE at Ribby with Wrea is taught through a variety of different ways; art, drama, song, Bible stories, creative writing and through first hand experiences. Through RE, the school aims for the children to develop a sound knowledge and understanding of Christianity.
Each year group has weekly RE lessons. Units of work build on progress made in previous years and encourage personal growth and deeper level thinking. Worship takes place daily and provides a place where the school can come together to share stories, sing hymns and pray/reflect. Children are encouraged to take a leading role in our whole school worship. Every term a different class leads worship, celebrating a different theme. We take weekly visits to our local church and are actively involved with our local community. In KS2 we have “The Halo Group”. This is a small group of children that promote RE within school and actively take part in activities such as raising money for charity or make suggestion on how to make RE even better.
Miss Naylor is the Subject Leader for Religious Education and takes a leading role when developing RE within school. Reverend Philip is the governor for RE and actively leads worship once a week. Religious Education is a strength at Ribby with Wrea and is at the heart of everything we do.
