RE

At Ribby with Wrea, Religious Education (RE) is at the heart of our school community. We live each day through our school values, encouraging children to develop an understanding of themselves and other people. We believe that RE plays an important role, along with all other curriculum areas, particularly PSHE and the teaching of British Values, in promoting the spiritual, moral social and cultural development of our children. Our RE curriculum is designed to inspire curiosity. We empower pupils to tackle key religious questions and develop the critical thinking skills needed to reflect on their own perspectives.
As a result of an excellent RE curriculum, we want our children to leave school as well-rounded individuals with respect and appreciation for religion, beliefs and morals – both their own and that of others, creating a deeper understanding of the world and their place within it.
Our children will be encouraged to become courageous advocates and champion causes which are special and meaningful to them, be it global issues or matters far more personal and closer to home.
Through strengthening children’s understanding of our Christian Values, we aim to empower children to make positive choices and develop themselves as unique, confident and compassionate individuals.
